1. What this site contains
ZIRULAB contains a research tool knowledge base, task-based workflows, technical articles, tools developed by the author, and a description of research software and data-processing services. This page explains how that content is compiled, checked and updated.
2. Sources and checking of tool information
Tool pages are compiled from each tool's official website, official documentation and source repository. Tool names, trademarks and the software itself belong to their respective owners.
We check licences and costs against official pages or repository licence files where possible. Compiling sources, automated checks, human verification and hands-on testing are different processes; each tool page states the scope and date of checks where available.
Information without a reliable source is shown as "not verified" and is never guessed. Information on a page without a check date has not yet been independently checked as described above. Licences and prices can change; check the official terms before use.
3. AI-assisted writing
AI may assist with research notes, translation, editing and first drafts. AI-generated text is not an independent source of facts; technical parameters, figures, standard editions and important claims must be checked against primary material.
Technical articles drafted with AI assistance say so on the article page.
4. Review and publication of technical articles
Technical articles require author confirmation and technical review before publication. Automated data checks verify required fields such as author, reviewer and unresolved items; they do not replace substantive human review. Article pages show the author, update date and reviewer.
Articles name the standards they rely on and their editions. Worked calculations and results based on synthetic data or assumed values are clearly marked and are never presented as measured data.
5. The author's own experience
Only content explicitly described as the author's own use or work experience represents first-hand experience. This site does not publish invented user experiences, measurement results, client cases or user reviews.
6. Tool assessments and recommendations
Text marked "ZIRULAB's recommendation" on tool pages is this site's editorial advice, not a third-party assessment or user review. Inclusion and ordering of tools cannot be paid for.
Editor's picks reflect a tool's purpose and use cases, not a guarantee of features, reliability or security. Unless explicitly stated, an inclusion does not mean the author installed or tested the tool. Actual testing is noted on the tool page.
“Selected tools” on the home page are chosen by the editor for a clear purpose, fairly complete information and an obvious official source; they do not reflect usage, ratings or rankings. “Other tools in the same categories” on tool pages are listed because they share a category.
7. Sponsorship, affiliate links and commercial partnerships
ZIRULAB currently has no sponsorship, affiliate links, paid listings or commercial partnerships with any listed tool. If that changes, it will be stated clearly on the pages concerned and on this page.
8. Advertising
This site plans to use Google AdSense. Ads are served by Google's systems, and the site may use available category and display controls. Advertising does not influence tool inclusion, ordering or recommendations. See the privacy policy for advertising cookies.
9. Tools developed by the author
The tool knowledge base includes tools developed by the author, marked as "in-house" on their pages. Please bear in mind that the author has an interest in these tools.
10. Independence
ZIRULAB is an individually maintained website that shares information about research and technical tools, helping users discover, understand and choose tools that suit their needs. Product descriptions and recommendations on this site are provided for reference only and do not represent the official views of the relevant product providers or organizations. Users can make their own choices based on their needs.
11. Corrections
If you find an error or outdated information, please let us know through the contact page. After review, we correct it and update the applicable verification record.
12. Third-party logos and software requests
Third-party software names, trademarks and logos belong to their respective owners. They appear only to identify and describe the software, not to imply partnership, sponsorship or endorsement. We seek to follow official brand guidelines and retain a text fallback where the identity of a logo cannot be verified. Rights holders may contact us to request review, removal or correction. This notice does not replace any required permission.
Visitors may suggest software or tutorials, but suggestions do not guarantee inclusion, development or a response. Contact emails are used only to handle the request and, with consent, reply about it; they are not added to a marketing list. Suggestions are not presented as test results or user reviews.
