Syncthing

Open-source multi-device file sync tool for syncing research files between computers, servers and mobile devices.

Details

Syncthing is an open-source peer-to-peer file synchronisation tool that syncs folders across multiple devices without relying on a single commercial cloud service. Researchers can use it to sync paper projects, code, notes, data processing results and frequently used document libraries.

Use cases: multi-device sync, project file sync, paper folder sync, data backup, personal library sync

Note: Sync is not version control — accidentally deleted files may be deleted on other devices too; keep separate backups of important projects.
