APSIM (Agricultural Production Systems sIMulator) was developed by Australia's Agricultural Production Systems Research Unit (APSRU) and is one of the most widely used crop-soil system models in the world. APSIM Next Generation (NG) uses a modular architecture and supports major crops such as maize, wheat, rice and soybean, as well as soil carbon and nitrogen and water dynamics simulation.
